How much fat should you eat when dieting?

Most answers to this question are far too complicated.
So let me give you the simple answer.

If you are trying to lose weight, a useful target is limit your total fat intake to about 30 grams of fat per day. Of this, no more than 10 grams should be saturated fat.

Where possible, obtain your fat from vegetable/plant sources, or oily fish, rather than animal fats.

If using vegetable oils, choose 'unprocessed' brands.

Note:
(1) If you are male, you may increase this suggested quota to about 35 grams.
(2) In order to reduce your fat intake to this level, you should choose low-fat or fat-free options whenever possible.
(3) You should also get into the habit of checking labels.
